Ever dealt with your three to five year old’s meltdown, unsure of what to do? Join us for an evening’s discussion with Dr. Learsy and Dr. Reiss from Childs Best, an organization of specialists in developmental behavioral pediatrics and psychological services. They will discuss a child’s emotions including how to better understand and handle tantrums and help your child begin to self-regulate.
Join us for an evening of discussion that will include ample time for Q&A from the audience as well. There will be light refreshments served. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required as seating is limited.

High School Admissions can be a daunting and overwhelming task. Moderated by the A. Fantis High School Admissions Team, this Roundtable Discussion will bring together a panel of experts from Catholic, Independent and Public High Schools to help provide key insight. Join us for an evening of discussion that will include Q&A from the audience as well. There will be light refreshments offered. Kyle Graham is the Assistant Head of School, Enrollment Management and Student Outcomes at Poly Prep Country Day School and leads all aspects of the offices of admission, financial aid, and college counseling. He was instrumental in overhauling the college application strategy at Poly, resulting in a higher percentage of Poly graduates attending colleges in the “Top 25” and “Top 50” of US News and World Report, than any time in Poly’s history. Kyle received his BA in Economics from Hamilton College, and his MA in Higher Education Administration from New York University. He has experience in highly selective college admissions at Hamilton College, NYU, and NYU Abu Dhabi. Most recently, he served as Upper School Dean at Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles, California. Kyle has presented on enrollment management and the highly selective admissions process at national conferences such as the College Board Forum, the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools, and the Independent Educational Consultants Association, to name a few. His primary focus is to help students and their families navigate the ever-evolving and selective admissions landscape.
Mark Spelman has worked at Xaverian High School since 2000 and has been the school’s Director of Admissions for the past five years. During his time in admissions, he oversaw Xaverian’s transition to a co-educational facility, and has also developed a thorough understanding of how a current high school functions and what prospective high school students should consider during the application process. As a graduate of the Class of 1992 and a current Xaverian parent, Mark understands the trials and tribulations of the application and admissions process. He has dedicated his time at Xaverian to ensuring that students and their families find a school that meets their social, academic, and financial needs, while also finding a place that they can call home.
Joyce Szuflita is a professional school consultant and considered “the borough’s long-established doyenne of the business”, according to The Wall Street Journal. She founded NYC School Help, LLC in 2007 after doing exhaustive research and navigating the public school system for her own children. It has continued to grow and has now lectured over 200 times and consulted thousands of families since she began. She was profiled in The New Yorker, Making Money: Schooling Brooklyn Parents, in addition to other press coverage.
