The A. Fantis admissions process is simple and streamlined. The Early Admissions Cycle, which ends in November, is strongly recommended as spaces are limited in many classes and the waitlist grows quickly. Download our Application Checklist to guide you through the process.
Step 1 - Visit Fantis
Step 2 - Apply Online
Step 3 - Family Visit and Buddy Day
Family Visits are brief, informal meetings with the principal. In this setting, parents and their children can share more information about themselves while also learning more about the school. Lollipops are recommended, but optional.
Buddy Days give children the full Fantis experience for K-8 applicants. They spend the full day in the school paired with a classroom ambassador who guides them throughout. Students also take grade level benchmarks assessments to help build a general academic profile. Teachers debrief with parents at the day’s end. PK3 families accompany the PreK Director to the classroom for 15-30 minutes. There they meet the teachers, watch the class in action, and sometimes even join the fun.
More than one Buddy Day may be required to complete the application process.
Family Visits and Buddy Days are scheduled together. PK3 families can expect 30-45 minutes. K-8 families schedule the Family Visit the morning of the Buddy Day.
Step 4 - Submit Application Materials
To complete your application, families submit the confidential teacher recommendation, transcript request and, if applicable, the IEP or 504 plan. Middle school students submit an essay.
Notifications of acceptance into our program will be provided by the dates listed below for early and regular admission cycles.
In order to hold your child’s seat, the deposit and enrollment agreement are required within 10 business days of notification.
Parents must also provide the child’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate (K-8 only), and health form, as well as enroll in our Tuition Management System.

A. Fantis UPK
Seats for the A. Fantis UPK4 are extremely limited, as current A. Fantis PK3 students and siblings have preferred placement in the UPK4 classrooms. With over ten applicants for available seats, the determination is made by the PreK For All lottery selection—not by the school. The application window is typically from January to March. Families interested in our UPK4 program should visit the PreK For All website for complete information and to apply. If A. Fantis is your top choice, then apply to BOTH our PreK and Dual Language PreK programs as your top two choices to increase your chances. See our blog for more information on the Dual Language Program or join an Open House! Please note that the waitlist is very long. If seats become available at any time throughout the year, the next students on our UPK4 waitlist will be contacted.
Greek Dual Language UPK4 Program
Equally in Greek & English, with the goal of enabling all children to become bilingual & biliterate during their education. Learn more
Aim for a 50/50 balance of children whose home language is English and children whose home language is Greek—of varying levels of ability.
Families must apply separately for Dual Language Program: Greek or English
- Greek speaking families can range in exposure & usage
- Select both programs if Fantis is top choice
Ongoing research has demonstrated the ample benefits of bilingualism beyond simple language fluency, including enhanced executive functioning and cognitive flexibility. In addition, our dual language learners will be able to more fully experience the rich culture and history of Greece through the language and traditions.
