Families are carefully guided through the entire exmissions process to ensure students enter their desired high schools.

Fantis graduates are well-prepared for the academic demands of continued studies, evidenced by the list of top-tier high schools and universities to which our students have been accepted. Our High School Admissions Team provides comprehensive and personalized advisory services to help families navigate the daunting New York City high school application process. Resources include securing quality test preparation and ongoing, customized student and family work sessions throughout the admissions process. A. Fantis has strong relationships with many high schools, with representatives routinely visiting our school to meet with students and families. We help students find the high school that best aligns with their aspirations and interests, achieve his or her admissions goals.

For over 50 years, A. Fantis has prepared families of our middle school students to navigate the difficult process of high school admissions in NYC by collaborating to find the proper placement for each individual student. From Laguardia and Brooklyn Tech, Dominican Academy and Xavier High School, Poly Prep and Berkeley-Carroll, our students have graduated from a variety of premier high schools that best suits the needs of each individual student and family.

Individualized Support for Extraordinary Results

Beginning in sixth grade, the High School Admissions Team provides support for families. This includes Info Sessions for parents, test prep, and Admissions Events with select High Schools. In the spring, seventh grade students and families attend individualized planning meetings to review options and schedule important events for the year, such as test dates, fairs, and Open Houses. The A. Fantis High School Admissions Team meets with each student individually throughout the year as well to monitor progress. Seventh grade students also begin preparation for any applicable exams, such as the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) and the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS), with tutoring assistance after-school.

The rigorous curriculum of A. Fantis, combined with individualized support, helps our students prepare to complete the High School Regents Examinations in 5 subjects—Algebra, Living Environment, US History, English, and Greek—by the end of 8th grade. This provides the opportunity to graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma from high school.
